Virginia Eva Wheeler- 1892-1988

 Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Mrs. Wheeler was a noted dancer, having began her career in her teen-aged years on the TBA black vaudeville circuit. In the 1930s she was a member of the famed Hot Chocolates chorus line. The partner of actor Leigh Whipper and the mother of writer Leighla Whipper, and grandmother of Carole Ione Lewis ( IONE) she became the proprietor of the Spuyten Duyvil Inn, a famed watering spot in Saratoga Springs, NY, 1947- 1987 and was a resident of Saratoga until the end of her life.
